Meet My Family.

Sep

My Mom has wanted us to update our family portraits for sometime now, probably over 8 years. Opps! Now with our expanding family we have a bunch of grandkids to add to the mix. Finally were able to schedule a date that worked for all of us. We packed up some snacks, beverages and headed to Watch Hill. It was a nice night with the sun setting, The Ocean House behind us and the sound of the waves rolling in. The perfect back drop of us.
Of course being the control freak photographer that I am I set up the self timer and ran back and forth to do our group portraits. As people watched around us and saw me running back and forth probably thought it was comical but it only took 4 times to get everyone looking and smiling in the same direction! I would click the button, run to position, adjust my hair, bend the leg and smile- Bam! Hoped that one worked out. Repeat.  I had all these expectations of getting couple shots, kid shots and as many combos as I could of all of us. I should have listened to what I tell my clients set your expectations low and lets see what we can get. Let the kids be kids and have fun. Being in the moment while capturing those candid shots are more memorable then the ones when we are all standing there smiling. With the kiddos being toddlers and some babies the last thing they want to do is sit and smile when they could be splashing in the water, playing in the sand. I don’t blame them. Needless to say we all had some fun and a few stories to tell about the police (No know of us got into trouble!) cough cough… Mandy! 😉
Meet my crazy growing family.
My parents who are always there for us and put up with a lot of my craziness and spontaneous decisions in life. 😉
